Learning theories are conceptual frameworks describing how information is absorbed, processed, and retained during learning. Cognitive, emotional, and environmental influences, as well as prior experience, all play a part in how understanding, or a world view, is acquired or changed and knowledge and skills retained.learning theories

This are the information literacy frame works and they have been developed through bringing together thinking about variation in approach to teaching; learning and IL with thinking about approaches to curriculum and the idea of viewing problems through identifiable frames.Altogether, six frames are presented:

(2) The Competency Frame
(3) The Learning to Learn Frame
(4) The Personal Relevance Frame

Learning theory and framework

As read more about the information literacy I think that it comes with roles and responsilities to  "... the ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand." Information literacy definition . knowing when and why you need information, where to findit, and how to evaluate, use and communicate it in an ethical manner.  Accord toinformation literacy theory we interpret the emphasis on seeking and selecting information sources in various programmes of information literacy instruction as indicative of the long tradition of library use education primarily focussed on sources, search techniques and the evaluation ofinformation
Individual has to check the authentcity , relevance, the validity and the reliability of information. The person how is working with information must be able to have technological skill,  to able to use communication tools and networks.

There is higher level of technology competency needed, only computer skill. But to be fluency with technology for an individual to be able to sove problem. It means that because of the technology evolvement, individual should up their skills all the time, lifelong learning is the name of the game. There is a indepedence learning and social responsibility with in the context of information literacy.Technological skill As I was looking at the information literacy and the Standards and the achievement competency. Informantion literacy would be much easier for those with money and resource. Then on poor individual or institutions which are in rural or disdvantage it would be much harder to achieve. And I also think about the public libraries whether in Cape Town or rural its abilities are far behind than academic librariesInformation literacy and standard of assessment

I thought the course was about information needs, access and retrieval. And how to help people to get right information. I think I will enjoy this course, there will be group activities, I learnt about the history of information literacy and the definition , the ability of indidual to recogmise when the information is need, allocate evaluation and use effectively the the needed information. And the cubject had broad about the accessibity of information and the ability to retrieve information and restore the information. I seen a relationship between the information literacy, development of information, information knowledgmnet  and information managemnt
